Mont St Michel Beach Photos

These Mont St Michel beach photos can hardly begin to show the majesty and beauty of Mont Saint Michel but I am in hopes that you will be able to experience a small bit o the grandeur that is here. Located in the Normandy region of France and built on a rocky base The photographs found on this page present a view from the exterior as we walked around the base of the Abbey and took photos of the Mont St Michel beach.

 

During the summer of 2011 when I arrived at Mont Saint Michel via bus from the university in Angers, you could park in a lot at the base of the Abbey. Cars and buses were given designated parking based on time of day and time of the incoming tide. However, beginning 28 April 2012 there is now a new car park on the mainland so that more visitor parking is available, unhampered by the tides. There is now a welcome center  that even provides kennels if you are traveling with a pet.

If staying in one of the hotels on the island, you will have to leave your car in this secure public lot. The cost is 8.50 € par car at the time of this post.  Then, take the free shuttle called, “Montoise” to go to your hotel.

 

 

 

 

 

 

It is always hard to leave, particularly when you are looking at such beauty and majesty . However, I have no doubt that Mont Saint Michel’s pull on me will win and I will return.
